I'd vote for him again!

Bill Clinton was on The Daily Show last night. Can we have him back? Please? because really, i don't CARE what he did w/monica lewinsky. he was a good president. he didn't alienate nearly every single country in the world. and we impeached him why? b/c he screwed around behind his wife's back and didn't want the entire world to know about it, so he lied.

hello. newsflash...GWB has lied. and lied. and broken several laws and now, it's possible he'll get pardoned??? insane. ignominius.

the thing is, the next president, whoever s/he may be, is TOTALLY ewedscray. this mess is going to take us SO long to straighten out.

wow - this SO very much wasn't what i'd intended to blog today...it was just....listening to a past president who knew how to speak proper English - who could string coherent sentences into a paragraph or two (is it still a paragraph when it's spoken?) was an amazing thing. a BEAUTIFUL thing.

Happy birthday a week ago, Kristen. 36.02 years old today. Wow.

I certainly agree with you regarding George W, Kristen. I blogged a post about 2 weeks ago similar to what you say here. Both my parents hate Clinton and according to them it's because of the "lie" and the infidelity. Hard to believe, huh? The country is out tens of billions of dollars and totally bankrupt of global good will and people think the sex-thing was the big deal. What a weird view of morality.

Michele sent me out to Nevada to say hi and commiserate.

thanks for stopping by, utenzi :) i will go and look for your post on it. and i agree. i don't get why the whole sex thing is worse in the radical right's view...odd.

Of course some of it is partisan politics and the GOP seems to be much better at playing that game than the Democrats. Or maybe the Christian Right is more gullible? In any case, Bill Clinton took it on the chin. I suspect history will be more kind to him than current public opinion is.

While I'm not American, he was certainly the most charismatic President that I can remember. If I had to give him a thumbs up or a thumbs down, it would have to be up.

I'd vote for him again. In a heartbeat!!

(One of my favorite bumper stickers I've seen in the past couple of years said "Will someone please give this guy a blow job so we can impeach him?")

I'm with you Kristen. I remember when everyone was freaking out about Clinton but now look what we've got. It is almost a dream that we can be hated like we are, in debt like we are, and many many other things but I don't want to get on my soapbox on your blog.

blogger is not enjoying me -- it's pushing my comments away away - even on my own blog!

deb - i love this bumper sticker as well - i was even going to mention it, but i have some family members that read my blog and i didn't want to shock them TOOOOO much *grin*

carrie - soapbox away on my blog! i am right there with ya! i truly just never understood the freaking out that people were doing.

Hi Kristen. I couldn't agree with you more. I think the expectation of perfection in our presidents is a bit of a joke. Find me someone who has NEVER lied and I'll find a way to prove you wrong.

The truth of the matter is that politicians are as fallible as we are. We need to look past their weaknesses to better understand whether or not they are great leaders.

Clinton clearly was. And even in retirement, he remains a person who inspires.
